Katmandu living

the van de Wiel/Schou Hansen family blog

Liva turned six on the 4 April, and she managed to get two parties this year. First, on her birthday we had a reception for approximately 50 people, and as many of them brough their kids we also had a Piñata. On Wednesday we had the real party for Liva's friends. At the party we had another Piñata and lots of games. As it should the party ended with a Cake. One of the fun things about living in Yemen is that most of the imports are from China - So we get most of the plastic junk but also some of the more inovative things down here. As you can see on the picture, the candle on the cake was a lotus flower that initially was closed but when lit opened up while playing a small tune. When it opened up it revealed a candle on each of the lotus pedals.
