Katmandu living

the van de Wiel/Schou Hansen family blog

In the weekend Lieke had some work in the Office so the kids and I went to the old city for walk. Whenever we go there people are always very facinated with the kids and want their picture taken. So here is a picture of Liva and Joop and an old man who we met.

As we were not in Yemen for Christmas and left for Holland just after returning from India we never had a chance to open our presents from our Danish family. However, we have now had a chance to do so and Liva and Joop will get a chance to use their new Ponchos before it gets too hot here in Yemen. Since they have gotten them we have been unable to get them off them

We have now returned to our normal life in Yemen and in the weekend we went out Liva’s schools to test the new bikes that we brought home from Holland. Liva is now starting to learn to drive without side wheels whereas Joopie now has her own bike.

We are now back in Yemen after our “wild” holiday program in India and Holland. We returned a few days ago from Holland and are slowly getting back to the life in Yemen. We managed to buy lots of stuff in Holland and everything arrived well – even the new bikes of the kids which we are planning to go out and test out today. Liva will have to learn how to drive without the side wheels and she is very excited about that. While we were in Holland Opa celebrated his 70th birthday and everything went well. He had a big party with all the relatives. On the picture above you see Opa with his grandchildren (minus Hanna who was busy while the picture was taken) and Opa and the kids at the local monastery.
